The Climate Clock shows two numbers. The first, in red, is a timer, counting down how long it will take, at current rates of emissions, to burn through our “carbon budget” — the amount of CO2 that can still be released into the atmosphere while limiting global warming to 1.5°C above pre-industrial levels. This is our deadline. The second number is our lifeline. We have to get the second number to 100% before the first one gets to zero.
Hi, and welcome to the website of Extinction Rebellion Hammersmith & Fulham; thanks for being here. If you are concerned about the Climate and Ecological Emergency then you’re in the right place.
You’ll find a lot of information here, facts about the Climate and Ecological Emergency, why it’s such a big problem and what you can do about it. You can become a part of XR in many different ways – joining one of the Working Groups is probably the best place to start.
There are WhatsApp groups for new people where you can learn about XR and what we do and also meet other people. The easiest way to do this is to join the Announcements WhatsApp group (do by following this link) which is where messages about various things are posted. Once you are registered on that someone will contact you to explain more about how it all works. You’ll also find plenty of ways you can get support – for example in the Climate Cafe we regularly run.
what we're doing at the moment (some of it anyway)

Barclays Bank is the biggest funder of fossil fuel exploration in the UK. Last year they invested £160b in exploring and digging up fossil fuels. It has to stop .... we are working with other XR groups in London and Bristol to draw attention to their activities - we have visited their branches, staged football matches and there will be more.....
McKinsey is one of the most influential Management Consultants in the World - they have been operating for almost 100 years advising most of the major corporations and many governments. We have been visiting their London offices regularly since the end of 2019 asking them to start giving advice that might help save the planet
Save Our Scrubs
The HS2 rail project is now threatening Wormwood Scrubs - with one of the biggest wild areas in London and right on our doorstep. There will be plenty of action over the coming weeks to stop this destruction.
Meanwhile ...SIGN THIS PETITION:
Drumming is one of the key parts of many of our action; hearing a group of drummers gives everyone a fantastic lift. The West London Drummers meet regularly to practise , you can join in (no experience necessary) and join actions when you're ready.
XR H&F has a regular meeting on Tuesday evenings. At the moment these are on ZOOM, but they are an easy way to see what's going on and to find out what you can do if you want to be more involved. The various Working Groups also have meetings; in person when allowed
LBHF is introducing door collections of composting - our RUBBISH REBELS are supporting this by delivering leaflets to houses in 6 different areas around the borough as a trial. If you'd like more information or can help with some leaflet delivery have a look here.
These 3 graphs from The Guardian newspaper show exactly what we're up against. CO2 levels rising exponentially,
leading to temperature rises and then to sea level rises.
